Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington is a Greek American author syndicated columnist as well as a businessperson. She is co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington has been a journalist, TV personality as well as a television philanthropist, author and TV philanthro for more than ten years. In addition, she is the founder of The Huffington Post, an independent, liberal online newsmagazine. Her birthplace was Greece she moved to England in the year 16 and was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. At 21 she became president of the renowned debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student to do so. In the years following after her college graduation, she became an influential conservative journalist who was syndicated. Then, a couple of years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critical commentary on the current political landscape. Her site was able to bring in many prominent contributors to share their opinions on culture and politics. Arianna gained notoriety after she was elected as an independent in a recall election in California for the seat of then-Governor Davis. She also headed the Detroit energy-efficient vehicle project. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as one of the top women in media. She was ranked 12th place on the list. The same year, the Guardian named her to the top 100 media list. The year 2011 saw AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her president of the media division, which contained many at the time-operating AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and manager Konstantinos along with his partner Elli Stasinopoulos. Although she had a close relation to her mother and father, it was their bond which shaped her. She was a leader from the beginning. After the 16th year of her life beginning her education in England in the United Kingdom at Girton College Cambridge. She was a member of Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society as a student and was the third female to be elected the president. She graduated in 1972 with an advanced degree in Economics. After her graduation she worked as a columnist critic, and as a host on television. She also appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started creating books with his editing assistance.
